This spider is one of the most recognizable with its red hour glass shaped marking on its under belly (abdomen). The spider is generally about the size of a dime to nickel and shiny black in color.
These spiders are the most dangerous spider in the US. They are considered to be an outside spider mainly as they rarely infest inside homes/business. These pests do live outdoors most of the time in dense vegetation and under rocks. They are one of the few spiders that have a bite which can be dangerous to humans.
Focus your attention to the exterior. Eliminate clutter and overgrown foliage around you home/business. Habit control can go a long way keeping your property free of pests. Seal up any cracks with caulk and make sure your windows and doors are well fitted.
On the inside, we will pay special attention to all the areas these spiders would be found. These areas include the basement, water source areas where their prey would tend to be and cracks & crevices around the home. On the exterior, we will treat around the perimeter of the home, under siding, around pipe and wire entrances, and areas of dense vegetation to create a barrier that will prevent them from entering in the first place. Our regular service programs will maintain this barrier year round to keep these and other unwanted pests out.
